ID Students win PAVE Competition

Hannah Artmeier, a junior in the Interior Design program, has won first place in The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) 2010 Student Design Competition. Artmeier, whose design was entered in the Visual Merchandising category, will receive a $5,000 award at a PAVE Gala on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at The Pierre Hotel in New York City.

Kristen Seyferth, also a junior Interior Design student, received a third place award of $1500. Both Artmeier and Seyferth are in the Interior Design prefabrik ev studio taught by Tracey Siebert.

PAVE’s Student Design Competition, in its 16th year, is open to undergraduate students and geared for those interested in retail planning, visual merchandising, and branding programs. This year’s competition was sponsored by Godiva Chocolatier Inc. Artmeier and Seyferth were 2 of 440 total entries. According to PAVE, students could possibly see their designs come to life in a Godiva Chocolatier Inc. environment.

Hannah Artmeier is an exchange student from the University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim, in Munich, Germany. Kristen Seyferth is from Cleves OH.

Miami University prefabrik ev Department of Architecture and Interior Design will also receive $2000 ($1000 for each student in the top 3) at the Gala presentation.
