The MIAMI Portfolio
Art Faculty Create Art Works for Scholarship Project
During the summer of 2010, emeriti and current Department of Art faculty worked with students to create etchings, lithographs and relief prints for The MIAMI Portfolio: past + present = future, a scholarship fundraising project.
The idea for the scholarship project was that of art faculty and printmaker, Ellen Price. Soliciting the talents of emeriti and current art faculty, Ellen saw the project as a way to raise money for scholarships. One hundred percent of the money raised will be used to attract highly talented students to the studio art program.
The portfolio is a limited edition cloth book containing 15 original works of art. Only 30 sets have been printed. Each set is available for $2500.
Emeriti faculty whose works are included: Lon Beck, Joseph Cox, Crossan Curry, Jim Killy, Jerry Morris and Robert Wolfe Jr. Lon Beck, Joseph Cox, and Robert Wolfe are also alumni of Miami University.
Current faculty whose works are included: Andy Au, Joomi Chung, Larry Winston Collins, Susan Ewing, Tracy Featherstone, Edward Montgomery, Ellen Price, Dana Saulnier, Roscoe Wilson.
Initial funding for the project was made possible by generous donations from alumni Sandra Gross and Walter Gross III, and by the Miami University Art Museum.
