Programs
The Department of Art's special responsibility is to promote the conceptual, technical, and intellectual growth of students in art education, art and architectural history, graphic design, and studio art by offering creditable professional programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The Department of Art offers undergraduate degrees:
- Bachelor of Arts in History of Art and Architecture
- Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design
- Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art, with concentrations in ceramics, metals, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture
- Bachelor of Science in Art Education (Visual Arts Licensure Program)
Teacher certification requirements may also be incorporated with the BFA degree.
We prepare producing and exhibiting artists, designers, art and architectural historians, and art teachers for careers in art, design, and fields related to art, as well as for advanced study in studio disciplines.
We offer the following graduate degrees:
- Master of Arts in Art Education
- Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art: ceramics, jewelry design and metalsmithing, painting, printmaking and sculpture
The Department of Art is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
