WELCOME TO THE MIAMI UNIVERSITY TRUMPET STUDIO WEBSITE CREATED AND MAINTAINED BY JAMES OLCOTT DURING HIS TENURE AS PROFESSOR OF TRUMPET, 1978-2013 Dear Browser: This set of webpages is designed to give you a picture of what the Trumpet Studio at Miami University was like under Professor James Olcott, who held the position of Instructor of Trumpet from the Fall of 1978 to the Spring of 2013, a span of 35 years. The site highlights its people, its activities, and, if you are interested in becoming a trumpet student at Miami University, information that will help you understand the procedures, and maybe give you a little help in insuring a successful bid for admission to the department and the studio.
