We strongly encourage all prospective music majors to attend Music at Miami Day, whether you are a junior or senior! Stay tuned here for the the announcement of the Spring 2010 Music at Miami Day!

If you are ready to become a music major at Miami, follow these steps:

1. Apply to Miami University

Fill out a Miami University application found at the Office of Admissions website. Indicate MUSIC as your intended college major (or the major you wish to transfer into if completing the Transfer Student application).

2. Apply for admission to the Department of Music

Each undergraduate applicant, whether first-year or transfer, applies for admission to the Department of Music through the process of audition. The process begins with the applicant's requesting an audition. The audition is performed in front of the department's Admissions/Scholarship Committee and gives the applicant an opportunity to display his or her ability, meet the faculty, and have questions answered concerning all aspects of the Department of Music. The audition also serves as a scholarship audition for incoming students.

Click here to find out what to prepare for your audition.

PLEASE NOTE that Department of Music scholarships for incoming students are awarded based on your audition and the interview with the Auditions Committee. Everyone who auditions becomes eligible for music department scholarships. << More on scholarships >>
