Dr. William Albin is Professor of Music and Director of Percussion Studies and Directors of the Miami University Concert Percussion Ensemble and the Balinese Gamelan Ensemble. He
holds the Doctor of Music Education degree from Indiana University and a Master of Music in Percussion performance from Wichita State University, Albin has studied with George Gaber, J. C. Combs, Cloyd Duff, and William Platt, among others. A member of the Miami faculty since 1975, Dr. Albin is equally active as a performer and educator. Currently Principal Percussionist of the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra and Principle Emeritus with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. He has also served as an extra percussionist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Opera Orchestra. In addition to symphony work, Dr. Albin has performed the percussion book for numerous shows that include: Linda Ronstadt, Liberace, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Sammy Davis Jr., Johnny Mathis, Henry Mancini, the Moody Blues, Ray Charles, and Dennis DeYoung.
