Wescott House Design Studio Featured in Springfield News Sun
The Westcott House and Springfield High’s STEM Academy are teaming up to combine art and math through a curriculum designed around the renowned Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home.
Design Studio, which will kick off its third summer session next month, for the first time this year collaborated with a high school classroom to develop a multi-disciplinary education experience for advanced geometry students at Springfield High. Mentors and teachers work together to develop activities that incorporate geometry components into design concepts, like finding patterns and symmetry in student’s photos of the Westcott House.
John Reynolds, a Miami University architecture professor assisted with this year’s program.
