Oxford – Plans are currently underway for the eighth annual Viva Miami! vocal audition workshop, it has been announced by the Miami University Department of Music’s vocal division.

Named VIVAMiami (Vocalists in Vibrant Auditions) and slated for Saturday, January 23, 2010, the event is "a workshop dedicated to preparing young singers to audition at their true potential," according to a mailing sent in late September to vocal instructors throughout the region.

The day will include time for each participant to perform and receive feedback from MU voice faculty and a workshop on successful audition taking which will feature ideas and advice on repertoire, attire, preparation, and presentation. Participants will also be Miami’s guest at the Saturday evening performance of The Magic Flute by Mozart.
