Creativity and Learning Symposium
The School of Fine Arts and Miami Design Collaborative are co-hosting a symposium at the Marcum Conference Center from 10:00am-3:00pm on Friday, March 26. This event, co-sponsored with the School of Education, Health and Society, is titled Creativity and Learning, and focuses on the discussion of multiple frameworks for the engaged university.
The interactive session is planned as an extension of the Engaged Learning Symposium that took place during the fall semester at Miami. The idea for this symposium was generated by several faculty in the School of Fine Arts, along with colleagues from other divisions who expressed interest in exploring various ways that engaged learning is evidenced currently on our campus and how it may be envisioned for the future.
The day-long event will be very interactive and the participation of the attendees will be a key feature of the activities. John Foster, Head of Talent and Organization for IDEO, international innovation leader and design consultancy, will facilitate this conversation using the “World Cafe” technique. The World Cafe is a process for hosting learning conversations that promote authentic dialogue and deepen collective insights about questions that matter.
Space for participants is limited. If you are interested in attending please contact Connie Asher at asherck@muohio.edu. Lunch will be included.
