To consider improved facilities for homeless women in Cincinnati, the Drop-Inn Center worked with Miami University architecture students to develop a prototypical women's shelter and program center in Over-the-Rhine. Students met with Pat Clifford, director of the Drop-Inn Center, to investigate women-focused shelters throughout the United States and see how the concept could be implemented effectively in Cincinnati. A site was chosen and documented and a schematic design was generated during a three-week charrette, resulting in plans, elevations, and renderings that outline the potential shelter and its amenities. |
