B.A. in Theatre

The BA in Theatre builds on the strengths and values that are the heart of Miami's mission.

In the liberal arts tradition, the core of the degree gives each major a chance to take courses in most areas of theatre – acting, design, history, dramatic theory, technology, and directing.

You can have your degree your way by tailoring your coursework to explore your own interests. Choose from over 30 theatre electives to develop your own self-defined "focused study." Complete your focus with classes, an internship, or both.

Participate in productions as part of your degree. Our shows are cast and crewed with undergrads, and undergrads can design and direct in the production season. Work on department productions helps meet your "practicum" requirements.

Learn from a faculty of working artists and scholars committed to helping you grow as students.

Spend a semester abroad. Flexibility in the degree lets you participate in Miami's study abroad programs. Some theatre courses will also take you overseas to Russia, South Korea or the Czech Republic.

Graduate knowing you are qualified to enter top graduate programs or to survive in a competitive job market. See what some of our alums are doing now.
