Stimler '06 Named to Ford's Theatre Position

Theatre Department alum Nick Stimler '06 has been named the new Literary and Casting Director at the historic Ford's Theatre in Washington DC.

Nick will manage literary submissions, develop the Society’s theatrical programming in conjunction with the Ford's programming staff and supervise casting for all productions.

When asked what excited him most about his move, Nick responded, “My new position...allows me to utilize the liberal education and interdisciplinary skills I developed while attending Miami University. Ford’s Theatre is uniquely positioned to be an intersection of arts, education and history. I am honored to be a part of such an esteemed institution.”

Since graduating from Miami, Nick has been working in New York, most recently assisting director/choreographer Jeff Calhoun on a number of projects including the national tours of High School Musical and 9 to 5 and the Broadway productions Bonnie and Clyde and Newsies.

At Miami, Nick performed in Playboy of the Western WorldThe Boys From Syracuse (playing one of the Dromios alonside his twin brother Neal), and Scapin. He also wrote, produced and directed an original piece Connect Me as a departmental honors project in the spring of 2006.
