GUEST ARTIST/TEACHERS ANNOUNCED!
Our faculty will be joined by two special adjuncts this year. Marsha Hanna, Artistic Director of the Human Race Theatre in Dayton will be teaching directing classes 341 and 641 in the fall semester.
Suann Pollock, general manager of the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and Equity stage mananger has agreed to direct our spring production of Urinetown.
We welcome these talented women to our community and are thrilled to learn from the experiences they bring!
ANDY GIBB JOINS FACULTY
MU Theatre welcomes Andy Gibb to our faculty as Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre. Andy comes to us from California, and will teach courses in acting, theatre history and theatre appreciation.
MU THEATRE WELCOMES TRACY CHUNG
The Theatre Department is pleased to announce the residency of Hsing-lin Tracy Chung for the fall 2008-09 semester! Tracy comes from the Taiwan National College of Performing Arts where she teaches the art Jingju (Beijing Opera). Tracy will be directing her Jingju version of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew as well as teaching a class in Special Techniques for the Actor focusing on Jingju technique.
DOAN’S PLAY ACCEPTED INTO CINCINNATI FRINGE FESTIVAL
Professor of Theatre Bill Doan’s original script Southwest Ohio Society of Badasses will make its debut at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival which runs the last week of May and the first week of June 2008. Doan will also be directing, and the show will feature MU students Justin Baldwin and Alex Homer.
GUICHARD RECEIVES TENURE
Congrats to Julia Guichard who was awarded promotion and tenure this semester, and was also a finalist for the 2008 Knox Teaching Award. Julia teaches courses in acting and voice as well as introduction to theatre.
