Hotel Cassiopeia
By Charles Mee
Directed by Adron Farris
February 18-22 2009
“I would like a clock for myself because sometimes it seems to me my life is going by so quickly and I don't know what is happening. I think if I could slow it down I would notice I; I would feel OK about it before it's gone.”
Hotel Cassiopeia presents us the mind and art work of Joseph Cornell – an American artist and sculptor whose work primarily consists of boxed collage assemblage. In recounting the artist’s life and artwork in a dreamlike fashion, Mee gives Cornell’s artwork a voice and a body in which to speak and act. We share a dialogue between an artist and his artwork in a world of longing, loneliness, heartbreak, and hopeful compassion. More >>
